Juliana might be the best pound for pound grappler at the kinksports underground mixed wrestling club

The top four seeds made it past the first elimination playoff round and advanced to the semifinals setting up two intense male vs female matches to determine who will fight in the championship.

The 2025 Tournament at the Mansion has been our most competitive mixed wrestling tournament to date. In preparation for the tournament we wanted to invest in better quality wrestling mats so that the fighters can go all out without the fear of injury; though injury is always a possibility. In addition, the roster for this tournament has been incredibly competitive and professional. It wasn't necessary our original intended roster, but the eight competitors have worked out great for this tournament setting.

Let's break down the two semifinal matchups:

#1 Juliana vs #4 Kevin

Despite going 3-0 in the preliminary rounds, which included handing the champion Tatiana her first ever loss and beating the two men in the tournament, many people thought that Juliana at only 5'4" and 123 pounds wouldn't be able to beat 6'1" Claudia who came in at 148 pounds.

Claudia went 0-3 in the preliminary rounds, however these were her first ever wrestling matches and she showed great improvement throughout the rounds. Some think that she was robbed of her fight against David and that she was only inches away from winning her other two fights which would have given her a 3-0 record. That might be a stretch, but Claudia was not a typical number eight seed. She came into her fight against the smaller Juliana with every intention of winning and her long legs gave Juliana trouble early on and made the upset prophecies seem very realistic.

However, Juliana has really proven to be the best pound for pound grappler in this tournament and possibly the entire Kinksports Underground Mixed wrestling league. She wore down her larger opponent using her stamina, fighting skills, and underrated leg strength. 

Her opponent in the semifinals will be Kevin who is now 3-1 in the tournament after getting a narrow win against Speedy Gonzales Patricia in the elimination round. This will be the second time Juliana and Kevin face off in this tournament after Juliana had a narrow win over him in the second preliminary round.

There first fight was a high paced back and forth battle with Juliana getting the slight edge in points over Kevin utilizing her superior wrestling skills. She is giving up close to 100 pounds to Kevin, so Juliana will need to continue to rely on her fighting skills as well as her quickness to get another win over him.

#2 David vs #3 Tatiana

This will be a great mixed wrestling matchup between two aggressive fighters who won't settle for anything less than the championship. After starting 2-0 in the tournament, David got dismantled and humiliated by Juliana in the final preliminary round which was for the number 1 seed. We noted in the first elimination round matchup previews that his loss to Juliana would either be the beginning of the end for him or be a wake up call that could lead him to the finals. He seems to have went the latter of those two options as he fought well against Paulina in his first playoff fight.

Meanwhile, Tatiana whose only loss in the tournament and ever is also against Juliana, has not looked like her dominating self even in her two wins leading up to the playoffs. However, that changed in her playoff fight against Alejandra and now she looks focused heading into her semifinal match. She has stated that she would love a championship rematch against Juliana, but she will need to stay focused on her match against David and not look ahead.
